MAC Speakers Bureau

The MAC Speakers Bureau aims to provide high-quality educational opportunities at a minimal cost to archives professionals throughout the Midwest. Working in partnership, local institutions host the event, while MAC covers the speakers’ travel costs and honorarium.

In 2022, all Speakers Bureau workshops will be held virtually only.

Host’s responsibilities:

  • Pays $50 fee to MAC
  • Manages workshop through their institution’s video conferencing platform
  • Manages event registration
  • Publicizes the event via local channels
  • Gathers evaluations of event and sends information to MAC (if unable to gather electronic evaluations, MAC Education Committee will provide an online evaluation for participants to complete)

MAC’s responsibilities:

  • Pays speaker a $250 honorarium
  • Publicizes the event via MAC channels (email, social media, and online calendar)

Contact

If you are interested in hosting a Speakers Bureau event in your area, or if you have further questions about the program, please contact Speakers Bureau Coordinator Stephanie Hunker. In order to keep costs within the Speakers Bureau budget, requests for Speakers Bureau events are limited to 2-3 events per year. Requests to host events for the upcoming year will be accepted from February 1 to February 28. Schedule prioritization will be given to groups that have not hosted another Speaker’s Bureau event in the 3 years prior.
