About the Symposium
- Participants will discuss what it means to be “trauma-informed” and learn ideas related to the concept
- Participants will learn how to recognize the signs of trauma and stress as a result of their work, and potential steps to take in alleviating or mitigating it
- Participants will explore the complexities of collecting, preserving, and making accessible traumatic histories
- Participants will discuss the importance of communication and relationship building when working with donors, colleagues, researchers, and visitors who have experienced or are experiencing trauma
